Quartz vs granite for resale value

Putting the house on the market next year and want to update the kitchen first. Realtor said new countertops help with offers but didn't give me specifics. Not sure if spending more on quartz actually pays off vs granite. Would love to hear from someone who did this before selling.

Replaced our counters before putting the house up and it was 100% the right call. Had three offers within two weeks and our realtor specifically said buyers commented on the kitchen. We went with quartz and I think the modern clean look appealed to more people than a busier granite pattern would have. Honest take - for resale, condition and color choice matter more than the material itself. A timeless light quartz beats an outdated granite every time from a buyer perspective. Avoid anything too bold or trendy. For the actual purchase, we used Edstone inc  and the pricing was way more reasonable than I expected for a pre-sale reno where you're not trying to overspend. The owner helped us pick something neutral that would photograph well and appeal to a wide audience, which is exactly what you want before listing. Small shop energy with solid results, didn't feel like we were being upsold on anything.
