Basement drain defeated every tool I own
Three weekends in a row battling the same stubborn basement floor drain. Tried plunging, snaking, even those foaming drain cleaners everybody swears by. Nothing. My father in law mentioned something called a drain bladder for clogged pipes that attaches to a garden hose and basically pressure-blasts the blockage out. Sounds almost too simple? Has anyone actually used one successfully or should I just call someone already?

I actually tried a drain bladder last year after our basement drain kept backing up every time we ran the washer. Hooked it to the garden hose, fed it down the pipe, turned the water on slow… and yeah, it did push something out. Bought us a few weeks. But the clog came back because it was roots further down the line. This article helped me understand the limits before I wasted more time: drain bladder for clogged pipes . If it’s recurring, I’d probably just call someone and be done with it.
