Hoping to Get Back on Track

I've always brushed off my attention problems, but now they're getting in the way of work and relationships. Last week I left my keys in the freezer somehow, and everyone laughed, including me. Can you recommend ADHD treatment options with medication and therapy that are worth discussing with a doctor?

Keys in the freezer made me laugh way harder than it should have because I once microwaved my phone thinking it was a snack bar - same brain fog, different appliance. Everyone laughs, but underneath that it's genuinely disorienting when it starts messing with work and relationships. Worth bringing up with a doctor: stimulants like Adderall or Vyvanse are usually first-line since effects show quickly, but if anxiety's mixed in, non-stimulants like Strattera sometimes get tried instead. On the therapy side, CBT geared toward organization and impulse control tends to help way more than generic talk therapy. I'd check ADHD treatment plan and what to expect  before your appointment, it breaks down what to actually ask for instead of walking in blind. Takes some tweaking to find what fits, but most people notice real change within a couple months once dosage and approach line up.
