I have a dripping faucet, weak water pressure in the bathroom and an old pipe section that probably needs replacing, so I started comparing local plumbing companies. What do you look at first, the license and insurance or the way the pricing is explained before the visit? I found one page that lists repairs, fixture installs, pipe replacement and pressure issues as separate categories, here is the link, and it made me think about how much detail is reasonable to expect upfront. I am also trying to understand whether a quote for a small remodel should be fixed or hourly. For now I am collecting a few estimates and reading the terms carefully before deciding anything.
